Don’t Get Cheated Online!
TEN WAYS TO GET RIPPED OFF CONSUMER REPORTS lists these ways to be ripped off financially: http://frugalforlife.com/consumer-reports-10-ways-to-be-ripped-off/ GOOGLE NEW MERCHANTS AND WEBSITES Put into the Google search box about, then the name of the merchant. Do the same with an untried website with which you may do business. Google will first give you the merchant’s or website’s address. Then it will tell you what others are saying about that merchant or website. What you find out can be quite a surprise. MERCHANT RATINGS The big bargain shopping sites, such as GOOGLE PRODUCT SEARCH, YAHOO SHOPPING, AND SHOPPING.COM will tell you how other consumers have rated a particular merchant. As will the excellent EPINIONS site, reviewed above. WHEN FREE STUFF ISN’T FREE “The freebie hunter signs up for an offer, say a trial pack of diet supplements. That person is taken to a sign up page and she eagerly does so and parts with her credit card number so she can be charged $4.99 for shipping. Come next month, and she has a $155 charge on her bill because the link she clicked conveniently bypassed the page saying she would be automatically enrolled in their subscription program to receive supplements each month.” Click below for more problems with free stuff: http://www.simplythrifty.com/when-free-stuff-isnt-free/ |
